It seems that Sandy Bridge in 13" MBPs is not all it's cracked up to be :

Those 13" MBPs are sounding less and less appealing with their Intel GPU and now their Turbo-less heat generators. This doesn't bode well for Sandy Bridge MBAs.

I trust Anandtech much more than anecdotal engadget reports.

The MBA is slow comparatively - that's ok - it's not supposed to be fast, it's supposed to be light.

Though I don't have a 13"MBP, but have the Ultimate Air, I will say this article pretty much sums itself up for me and their so-called "findings" (see attached).

The 13"MBP's only beat the air in a few categories. I/O and SB... Due to its lack luster GPU it doesn't really leap frog the 320, thus leaving it in comparison to a Ultimate Air.

Not to mention the 11" Air has a better screen resolution then the 13" MBP, which is really a slap in the face to those customers.

If anyone wants to buy a "Pro" notebook, hands down the 15" Models are to be considered (17" if thats your taste).

It's to be noted that Engadget's reports come from PC Pro and Notebook Journal, it's not anecdotal reports like you claim.

iDisk, the update wasn't there when I first read the article.
