Verizon stores not carrying any stock today

Just got off the phone with a few Verizon Wireless stores in the Chicagoland area and it sounds like none of them will have an iPads on hand today at 5pm. All orders will be drop shipped and be delivered Monday or Tuesday.
 
All the Dayton, Ohio AT&T stores are doing the same thing. I'm about to try Verizon, but expecting the same results.
