QuickTime question

I downloaded a .avi file off LimeWire that I had hoped to play in QuickTime. However, QT said that it did not have the software required to display the file. Do I need a third-party plug-in for this?

remember dowloading movies/tv shows is bad and talking about it might get you a telling off by the mods.

but back to you question - you need divx codecs www.divx.com or dowload mplayer that seems to play all know formats know to man lol

Ya just get mplayer (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16623) or VLC (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14738) they will play anything
