I saw this when someone linked it in a thread earlier. Very funny, made me laugh, especially the single colored iPod vs the multi colored comps :)

That's good! Makes you wonder how long it'll be before we see an affordable G5 (would have to be LCD-less).

My bet is on a G5-equipped mini after a couple iMac speedbumps and either a G5ification or discontinuation of the eMac.

The mini will eventually have to get to the G5, or at least somewhere other than the G4. It doesn't seem like the G4 has more than 2 more update cycles for the mini.

I reckon you're right (hopefully not about the discontinuation of the eMacs though). They'll still have to overcome some cooling problems of having such a compact case. This might take a while. :(

It's absolutely a disgrace that there's only one page, no details, and there's no link that you can click. This laziness is inexcusable.

It's only a step or two beyond the iMac G5, which is a lot more thin and has a built-in power supply and LCD -- I think the mini has a brick, which keeps one of the big heat sources outside, though the G5 CPU is still hot.
I am no engineer, but I imagine that people who are and are employed by Apple are hard at work trying to figure out the best way to get a G5 into the mini -- because after the Rev B iMac G5 the Mini will be looking more and more due for an upgrade.

If they could do a G5 in the mini, they would have a G5 powerbook out. The iMac is thin, but there's a lot of volume in there for air to circulate.
Besides, if they don't figure it out soon, we're gonna get this:

Sort of Macrummors meets the Onion! This could be a reaqlly fun site if had some more depth. For instance, the store could list 'rumored' products or completely made up ones like the Mac Mini concept stuff over at 123MacMini. The news headlines would be in the same vain as The Onions with funny people polls and switcher stories. Bizare stories of Mac Mini super computer clusters for modeling dairy farm production or some such nonsense.

Is it just me, or does the G5 Mini look exactly like earlier mockups of the G5 Cube? (I'm too lazy to search for image links atm)
