I have been trying to find out how one can install SL Server remotely via ARD if there's no DHCP server available. I have created an install partition on my xserve from where I can boot the installation instead of using the DVD. However, I understand that once it boots up, it won't have a fixed IP and will be looking for a DHCP server. If there is none to be found then there's no way I can connect to it remotely.

My question is, can I modify the installation files so that it will boot up with a fixed IP, allowing me to continue the installation via ARD? I know the ARD client is loaded automatically but without having a static IP that seems rather useless to me in my case.

Any hints?

thanks guys
