"Extents Tree Incorrect" on older Mac -- Help!!

I've got a co-worker who has an older Mac (6205) and every time he tries to put a floppy in it a message "Problem on disk HD, Extents Tree Incorrect" He says Norton sees nothing wrong but all his floppies are no longer readable. Can someone shed some light on this? I've done a search and can't see anything related to this older HD.
