This is a somewhat strange complaint, I must admit, but bear with me! It used to be that my Powermac G5 dual 2.0's sleep light breathed in synchrony with my 20" monitor's sleep light--at about 6 to 7 seconds for a full "breath" cycle from bright to dim to bright again. Now the PM "hyperventilates" and breathes about twice as fast as my monitor! What's going on?
