So, my iPad 2 arrived yesterday. First red flag: it took ten swipes to unlock! I restarted and the problem was still there, but eventually it finally unlocked.

Then I tried to configure my email and the "m" would not take on the keyboard. Switched to landscape and it worked. Problem: faulty tochscreen on the bottom third of the screen. It worked occasionally, but it was mostly broken.

Anyway, took it to the Apple Store and they did a full restore......still a bad touchscreen.

They gave me a new one and it's great.

Lesson: test all parts of your touchscreen to make sure 100% of it works.
