How is it rude to ask what the point of a thread is? If everyone posted a thread that they upgraded RAM in their Mac, there would be thousands of threads on this. Do you plan on also posting a thread each time you install a new app, or reboot?

Sorry if it's a silly question... but why's it only showing 3GB in activity monitor?

The memory controller in that model could only address 3GB, even if 4 was installed.

Because it will see a max of 4GB, but can only use a max of 3GB.
4 GB RAM in Macbook? I thought this was impossible
