Rise & Fall of RAM prices...

... So here's my experience with buying RAM.

I purchased RAM from here 17FEB05. I receive it 21FEB05, installed it, it works.

The price of it on 17FEB was $237.99, today (23FEB) it's $225.99 --- WTF! 😕

I e-mailed them with this concern, and to see if they would at least give me the difference in credit on my next purchase...

Their reply:

Hi Anthony
I am sorry everyday the prices change. I can't give you a credit of difference on you next order.

I feel like calling them back, and speaking to a Manager, Hmmm... maybe?

Anyone with any thoughts or has this happen to you?

thats what, around a 5% increase? $12?? Not worth the time or effort.

Is this a serious gripe or are just kidding???

Prices for commodity parts like memory and hard disk fluctuate all the time. I'd hardly call this abnormal.

Yeah... you're right. It's not worth it.

I guess, I just over reacted when I saw the cheaper price...

Prices are always relative. When you agree to buy something at a store for $237.99 that is how much you agree to pay for it no matter how the market changes. I'm pretty sure that the company is not trying to scam you, they are just trying to keep their RAM prices current. Just remember if the RAM prices had gone up to lets say $249.99 since then are they going to send am email to you asking for you to pay an extra $12. NO, because the agreed upon price was $237.99
