If you do a little bit of searing, you can see some pretty cool videos by people using nothing but iPhones, especially the iphone4.
Has anyone here played with the iPhone 4 to do some videos?
I have bought some stuff on eBay such as a wide angle lens and macro lens to play with. I am having a hell of a time trying to find a 15ft or longer 3ring cable extension to attach a external mic to. But once I have that, I'll use another eBay toy to mount it on a small tripod.
Some might wonder why I am bothring with the iPhone as a video tool, but the fact that I can carry a HD camera kit in my shoulder bag is too convenient not to try.
I'll be using it do interviews and creative work.

More to come.

Wow! I've been thinking about doing an iPhone project myself ever since the 4 came - the idea seems fun (me being a total newbie with shootng)! Now you got me REALLY wanting to get it on!!

What lenses and equipment would you say is necessary? Is some kind of wireless mics an option?

the challenge is the 3 ring port in the iphone. i don't know which ones lead to what function. there is only one site out there that I can find but it gives you the ability to shoot with an XLR mic.

I recently did a little short film using my iPhone 4. I attached my Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens to it (so I can do rack focusing) using a 35mm adapter onto an OWLE Bubo. Here was the results:

Would love to know what people think!

Nice

Thought the video was pretty terrific even if I hadn't known it was shot on an iPhone. I've seen people with camera gear costing 10 or more times as much that couldn't touch the work you did.

Looking forward to seeing more.

I dont know how to post photos or else i would post how it looks.
It will serve my purpose for interviews.

Here is the list of the gear.

Thanks musique! I just found out today that my short film won Second Place Grand Prize at the 2011 iPhone Film Festival. Made my day... :)

@matteusclement I look forward to seeing what you come up with using your new gear... I too am wanting to do a documentary next.
