it's an x86 thing... so you need x86 linux for it to work.

If you had the source, you could recompile it for PPC under Linux... but I'm pretty sure they aren't giving out the source. :)

that sucks, but isn't linux a widespread thing, so if its like that, you can't run any mac linux things on a x86 linux

right... but remember, most freely distributed Linux applications include source code... so you can recompile them no matter what processor it is.

Linux Binaries are generally compiled for a specific platform/processor.

This is how Unix works too. Most unix apps that are freely available include source, and allow you to recompile based on your processor/config.

Since it's available for x86 Linux and FreeBSD and the latest Solaris have a Linux compatibility box, their users will be able to run it too. Now, if Epic just had a box with PPC Linux so they could compile and distribute it...

I too have heard that some people really like it, some don't.

Waiting for it to download right now...only 109 more people in line!

Oh, and this is at a friend's house too...he has a "P" "C".

Does anyone know the system requirements for the demo? I've got a semi-older Dell (used only for Counter-Strike) that I might want to play it on...also, does anyone know if the Mac release's CD will be Windows/Mac compatible like Starcraft/Diablo II, etc.?

I heard that the system reqs for the PC were something like 600Mhz 128MB RAM and a GeForce or Radeon based card.

I might be wrong though.
