Recording longer voice memo's, any ideas?

Hello,
I have a 5th Gen Ipod Nano, I have also recently started to talk in my sleep.
The two are not connected, but i wanted to record myself to hear what I say.

I activated the voice memo option the Nano has but the thing stops after 2 hours.

As I take a while to drift off the recording rarely picks anything up.

Does anyone know how I can expand this to 8 hours so it can cover the full night?

The apps look like exactly what I'm looking for, but from reading their brief descriptions it looks like they're only applicable to iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch?

I don't believe they would work with a 'Nano'?

Does anyone have a solution for the 'Nano'?
