Hi all,

i am running a late 2006 white Macbook with the X3100 gpu in it. and she is a beaut. Only thing is since ive begun upgrading from 10.6 to 10.6.7 (well i recon it started at around 10.6.3) ive noticed a massive slowdown and also increase in beachball activity and increased boot times...

wahts up with that? anyone else noticed the same?

At this point i am really looking at reinstalling and backing my apps up and going back to 10.6.2 or 10.6.3

also its not my HD as there is more than about 30 gigs free..

any info/help/thoughts would be appreciated.

How much ram do you have? Is it the Core Duo or Core 2 Duo?

I have a CD and it's taxing to keep up with Snow Leopard, but for basic stuff, it does it's job. It is 5 years old, so it's not going to be as efficient with newer OSs as the newer models are.

Also, it could be your HDD. If it's starting to go out, that could lead to longer read/write times.

Its the Core 2 Duo with 2.1ghz 3mb L2

are there any mayor dramas with stuff that i cant run if i go back to 10.6.2/3?

cheers

Its got 1.5GB of ram in it and was speedy as all hell when i first installed Snowy onto it.

I also clean it a lot, running IceClean regularly. Ie maint scripts and so on.
I dont really wanna have to disable spotlight or Dashboard.

Edit: i just found out its actually an Early 2008 macbook, not 2006... Doh! :)
