View Full Version : Wondering if something is difficult to make

Hi again, had a question for a future project. I have a cataloging program I have used for 10 years now called Disc Catalog by Haxial. Years ago he mentioned that he was going to stop supporting the program. I like it because I can burn a data disc and then open the app and just drag it in and it keeps a catalog of images and the hierarchy instead or a written data base.

So one day I expect this not to work any more. So I was wondering from seasoned programmer who help me out a lot as I learn. Would this be a time consuming project or a good type of program to start on when I get some OOP under my belt? The link has photos on the bottom.

EDIT: This is his main site http://www.haxial.com/

This is not very hard to make. Basically, you need to create a file indexing program - which depending on your skill level may or may not be hard.

Although, if you are not already comfortable with OOP, I would recommend a simpler project first - something along the same lines maybe.

I am not familiar with OOP, yet. I am still learning but as I learn I am looking for simple projects to spend my time on. I would like to do something I enjoy doing and building a new visual data base program would be fun and not to hard.

Thanks for the input.
