If you're one of the maybe five people on this forum that have been watching The Bachelorette on ABC, and if you haven't seen the ending, stop reading.
OK, to the other four MR members who have been watching:
OK, I sometimes tuned into various Bachelor/Bachelorette series, but never watched very often or cared about the outcomes. This season, I started watching The Bachelorette halfway through the season because one of the guys (Jerry) grew up in a town I lived in for a few years and his mom actually lives near a friend of mine.
Anyway, Jen Schefft just dumped him on live TV. While I normally wouldn't care at all, and maybe find it humorous, this guy has shown an amazing amount of class during the show and a phenomenal amount tonight. He took it all in stride, was clearly saddened by the decision but refused to say anything bad.
Jen, on the other hand, just came across as a gold-digging shallow wench. I liked her, right up to the time she dumped him. Not because she dumped him - even though it caught everyone off guard - but because of the way she did it and the perception that I had that it was because good ol' Jerry wasn't rich enough.
He's smart, funny, well-mannered, etc. Just not rich. Hell, I'd marry the guy if I were gay (at least I live in state where it's possible). I just don't get it.
Anyone else stunned? Upset? Anyone else care at all?
