I plan on jailbreaking my ATV2 tonight. I'm currently on version 4.3 (4.2.1 in ATV2). I wanted to find out which jailbreak tool to use, Seas0nPass or PwnageTool? Is there a major difference between the two? Apparently both are untethered. I'm doing it for XBMC. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Both are unthethered now but Pwnage breaks the audio for XMBC so don't use that (unless they have fixed it in the last day). I am planning on re-jailbreaking with Seas0nPass this weekend since I made the mistake of using Pwnage.

So if I jailbreak with SeasonPass, will I be able to use XBMC without any major problems?

Also, is there a way to copy my XBMC library from my laptop (has all the custom artwork and thumbs I added) over to my ATV2's XBMC?

I would check out this thread over at xbmc.org:

Sounds like people are having problems with 4.3.1. I am going to downgrade to 4.2 - I think.

The last time I upgraded, I went from an old AppleTV to the new one and I exported my library (in Settings - somewhere). That created thumbs & nfo files which the new version picked up during "scan for new content". But I did have to recreate all of my custom settings etc in XBMC. This time I backed up the "preferences" directory which in theory (as I understand it) would allow me to bypass that step. I say "in theory" because I had problems with (of my own creation- by way of an add-on) that I don't want to carry forward.

I am back running on 4.2.1, jailbroken w/ XBMC installed & happy. Ended up using GreenP0ison - forgot that Seas0nPass won't work for me since I only have Leopard on my Mac. I didn't really need the any of the extras that 4.3 brought so I am happy to wait until the issues with XBMC running on 4.3 are worked out.
