Hey guys

I've bought an old 2006 Mac Mini A1176 from eBay as a recycle project. So far I've upgraded the machine to 2GB ram with a C2D 2.0 Ghz CPU and a brand new Fan.

The Harddrive is a stock 160GB sata which Is too small for me. So I was wondering if it's possible to throw one of those 500GB Western Digital Scorpio Blue SATA II drive in it???

I'm a little confused about whether a 500GB SATA II drive can run in an old 2006 Mac Mini since I've read that It's possible if you move the jumpers to a certain setting and other places I've read that It's not possible?

Thanks

I'm surprised 53 people looked at this thread without answering. Thanks alot guys... I found out on another forum that the 2006 mac mini should be compatible with SataII drives.

Yes it can but it will run at SATA I speeds (1.5gbps). Sometimes posts get lost in the fray and often times people who look cannot answer the question.
