I'm in my first year at uni studying CS, we have only covered C sharp, but I get most programming concepts. I've brought a mac and have discovered Xcode, so I'm looking for a book to get me started with writing a game for the latest iOS - any suggestions would be appreciated.

Lewis.

Since you have programing knowledge already, I would recommend this book: http://www.amazon.com/Learning-iOS-Game-Programming-Hands-/dp/0321699424/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1303004095&sr=8-1

It's pretty well written and you actually write a game from start to end.

Or, you could download some source code from the various open source iOS games out there and play with it.

Stanford teaches an iOS programming class and publish the lectures on iTunes U. I think watching the lectures will get you up to speed pretty quick. It basically gives a nice tour of iOS, and will be especially accessible if you're familiar with programming topics already. This is the primary way I learned my way around the API, and even many aspects of objective-C.
