Being a resident of north cal. I'm partial to the timbuk2 messenger bags. I've got a classic messenger bag in small and its perfect. Has a small compartment for iPad, lots of storage, pockets, features. You. Can also get the extra small version if you don't want the extra space.

STM x-small Scout messenger bag. I got it for around $35 a year ago from Amazon. Great little bag. It's got tons of space and the iPad compartment fits the iPad perfectly with or without a case on. It also has a ton of padding in the iPad compartment.

What's your price range? I'm very happy with my Tom Bihn Ristretto (http://www.tombihn.com/page/001/PROD/300/TB0222). It is functional, high quality and looks great. I've traveled internationally with it and it held everything I needed. I'm confident I'll be carrying my next couple of iPads in this bag. Having said all that, it costs $110.00.

The Ristrtetto looks real good. But I am planning to carry the iPad 2 around with me all day at work. Is the Ristretto small and light enough to be carried along all day?

I also have the Tom Bihn Ristretto for iPad (Navy/Steel). It's a great bag... Small and light (11 oz.), but also versatile enough to carry a good size load.

I have to second the STM scout iPad size. Mine looks exactly like the one in the link above but the tags didnt say x-small, just ipad size. No way an 11" notebook would fit in my bag. I've been using one for school and it has enough room for everything I like to have with my ipad with enough room left over for more if i need it but still nice and compact. Perfect for lugging around campus. I have a cheap leather folio from eBay on my iPad now that adds some bulk but it fits well into the iPad compartment.

I love it. I bought it with the Suspension Strap Mini. Workmanship, Ballistic Nylon material and appearance are outstanding.

Is the Ristretto small and light enough to be carried along all day? It's a small messenger bag, but I think it is too big to wear all day at work. At work I leave the bag on my desk and just walk around with my iPad+Smart Cover. I did carry my Ristrtetto everywhere I went at a four-day conference. I put it under my chair in meetings and it worked well.

All of the bags mentioned above sound great.

For just carrying the iPad around to different offices, the Timbuk2 Plush Sleeve works well. Padded and iPad 2 with Apple Smart Cover fits perfectly.

For carrying the iPad with the BT keyboard and a few small things, the SF Bags iPad Wallet with or without carrying strap is great.

For an ipad+ small items carry case, I've enjoyed the STM iPad Jacket case for a year. has pocket for an iphone, and a large zippered pocket, a slit for papers on the back, and the ipad compartment fits ipad in a small case., (fit my ipad1 in the black apple case fine), a grab handle and optional shoulder bag. high quality nylon and materials for under $30. oh I see it's down to $21 at ebags. mine had metal clips fffor the shoulder strap, now they are plastic, but the zippers are still nice and metal.

I've had sfbags, Ultimate iPad sleevecase and Exo iPad Sleevecase, very nice but hold nothing else.

I am currently using the STM Scout bag and should receive shipment of my Tom Bihn Ristretto bag on Monday. I have liked using the STM bag, however based on what I have read the Ristretto is a very well made and versatile bag. I am interested in comparing the two next week.

Well I can tell you what my favorite is...

SlakPack.
It's only $20 SHIPPED.
The SlakPack for iPad lets you use your iPad from outside the bag.

That's pretty nice. Will a 2011 MacBook Air 13" fit?

Excited to get my Ristretto (just got the shipping notice) in Black/Wasabi. I've already got one of their cafe bags and it's outstanding.

I received shipping notice and ordered the exact same bag. I am hoping the bag holds up to all the positive praise.

I've read and watched a couple of videos about the Ristretto. I'm sure it's a nice bag and you guy will like it. Post pictures of your bags!

The bag is just right for the iPad 2 Even the MacBook air 11 won't be able to fit. It's 2 inches longer than the iPad 2.

I just received my Ristretto iPad bag yesterday and am quite impressed. It is made very well and I really like the black/wasabi color combination.
The one thing I noticed, right at first however, was just how much BIGGER it is compared to the XS STM Scout bag I have. From all the reviews I read, I was under e impression that the Ristretto was similar in size. Comparing the specs, the Ristretto does measure an inch longer, but the entire bag seems too big to be labeled iPad specific. I even read on another thread that a member claimed he couldn't fit as much stuff in the Ristretto as he could the Scout. Maybe I am just expecting too much, but I am almost wondering if they shipped the larger Ristretto bag made for the MacBook Air. I plan on contacting Tom Bihn today to clarify if that may have happened
Can anyone else compare the sizes between the two bags?

I said the exact opposite in another thread. The Tom Bihn Ristretto is bigger than the STM Scout and can hold more, period. Unlike some iPad bags, the Ristretto for iPad is large enough to hold the iPad plus a good size case. With that said, even a nekkid iPad fits decent in the iPad section, and the padding protects it from bumps.

I have a couple Timbuk2s, but fall back on this one the most:
