connecting a win xp sp1 cenrino laptop with internet through mac mini:problems

arghhhh windows is driving me insane

first: the setup: i connect to my LAN (and tus internet) via my ethernet
and now i want to 'share that connection' via the airport

second: the problem:
i can get the laptop (win xp sp1) to cennect to my wlan net(secured by password) but i don't get a IP from my mac... (it displays 0.0.0.0 in status) and i can't get any further

i nearly tried every option so far and can't seem to get it work (windows xp is a pain especially)

if anybody expierenced the same problem and knows an answer i would be very pleased

Sorry, but it's far too early in the morning for me to be of much use other than to ask why no SP2? I've found accessing wireless networks much easier since updating XP.

i should have said that it's not mine laptop ..
.and the laptop works/worked with other connections (not like accespoint on university etc.)

i'm no expert at wlan so i guess i kinda missed an option etc.
(im using a 5 char ascii WEP key...)
