Interesting option vs the Otterbox. Reasonably priced also.

It would have been nice if more of the bezel was protected on the Seidio, but I'm officially digging this more than the Otterbox Defender for iPad 2. I like that the Seidio Active case's cover protects the entire screen when closed so I can just toss it into a bag or the car floor, compared to the Otterbox leaving it exposed.

I was waiting for the otterbox, but I think I might get this one on set...

Its out, but they don't give you much information on it like weight. Nor are there any instructions or diagrams on how it works. I'm going to assume it is simalar to the Defender since it looks so much like it.

I called Seidio to inquire and their trying to tell me its 30% lighter than the Otterbox Defender, I was like WOW, really, and since the Defender was just released like last week, I asked if Otterbox had sent them one so they could weigh it against their product, how else could they possibly know this!

No response on that one.

So what they are saying is:
30% lighter than The Defender which is stated in a pdf on Otter's site: WEIGHT: 16.32 oz / 462.66 g

Which would mean the Active case is roughly 11.5 ounces!

The rep went and weighed it for me, her response:
Rebecca: The ACTIVE case for the iPad 2 is 12oz exactly.

I would have to see this!

of course none of the ports seal on this thing, unlike the Otter or Drop Series!

@3goldens why are you bashing a case you havent even used or tried do you work for gleemobile or otterbox?
They both look like good cases, i have an otterbox defender for my ipad 2 and there are pluses and minuses to the case.
Youre making it out like theres nothing better than an otterbox.
Different strokes for different folks.

I would hardly say I am bashing it dear friend.

What I am doing is looking for the very best durable case, and since I already have the Defender, and then a few days later saw the Active had been released, I did what any other consumer would hopefully do, made some inquires.

The inquiries led to the weight difference which sounded intriguing, any lighter weight that comes with a durable drop proof case Im going to want to know about and would be interested in checking out.

That led me to notice that all the ports are exposed, which would not be something I would associate with an all around durable case, would you?

That led to forgetting about this case being a true contender to the Defender and not wanting to purchase it anymore, though if they would like to send me one I will do a comparison of them and write it up.

I do not work for either company I do nothing in the field of electronics or accessories. I review them and write about them solely as a hobby!

I guess we all want the best what money can buy. IMO I think 3goldens just want to point out some pros and cons. Perhaps slightly preferring the otterbox at some point.

I'm just wondering what took seidio longer to release the Active. The other colors are still "coming soon ".Gosh Seidio!

Now. Let's see some pics and comparison soon. Whoever gets the seidio.
