ok so i have decided to go it alone but with the help with you guys, sorry for my post earlier......

Hi everyone I'm a little new to this forum and just required some help. I would like to create a application for the iphone platform and would like someone who is proficient and competent and skilled in the developing aspect of creating an app and also with designing to assist me in creating this new app. Just need a step in the right direction and some help with coding.

The technologies that will need to be used will be the following :
iPhone SDK
XCode
XML
SQLite
JSON
CSV
Push Notification
Multi Threading

I will be linking my app with a Data feed direct form a source and also an RSS feed. is this complicated ???

Thanks

Aziz

Maybe you're too new to realize that proficient and competent and skilled iPhone developers get thousands of these types of requests, in some places can get paid a lot, reportedly up to $250/Hr, and are thus too busy to provide you with much individualized help on overly broad questions.

Try asking a specific question about single API that you've already done your homework on, and you might get an answer here.

There are no shortcuts. Start here

Get a book. Take one of the online courses.

Summarize your overall programming experience. If you've written applications on any other platforms, in any other languages, what were they (platform and language)?

Summarize your network programming experience. If you've never done any before, it's going to take time to figure it out, even you have good programming skills outside of networking.

What timeframe are you expecting the app to be developed within? Weeks, months, a year?

Hi guys many thanks for responding to my post.

so here goes , i actually don't have any experience in network or programming. I was in fact planning to get a specialist company to create this app for me, but thought it may be rather extensive so was going to ask someone to help me with the complete process.

i have been reading through this forum for a while now have just placed an order on few books; programming in objective C [stephen korchan], cocoa programming for os x [Aaron hillegas] and beginning iphone development by david mark and jeff lamarche.

I would like the app to be developed this year, so would like to get the ball rolling.

I have also thought of asking a skilled developer but don't know any, hence why i originally came on to this forum, but now thinking of doing it with help.

any suggestions ??

Thanks

Did you look at this thread, linked to in the "Looking for a developer / Requests for developers" (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=604011) sticky?:

Where to find a programmer? (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=836791)

I plan to actually create the app myself just need some assistance. I have ordered the relevant books.

Thanks for all the reply's guys.

i guess ill stick to my books, i will also be registering with the apple developers programme soon, but wanted to touch up on the coding aspect of app development.

p.s , I have no intention to break the rules of Macrumors, just require some help in app development.

Okay, just wanted to be sure that, if you decided to get a programmer to do the development for you, that you knew of some places to look.

Since you've decided to tackle that aspect as well, and have no prior experience in programming or networking, let me just say that you are probably in for the long haul here. Unless you are pretty talented and really dedicated, it will probably be months before you are even close to getting that app done.

I don't want to discourage you; just make sure your eyes are fully open. We're here to guide you but the journey is yours to take. When you need help, remember to ask as specific of questions as you can, be specific about whatever resources you have been using (e.g. if it's a book you have a concern about, state its name, author, edition, chapter, page), and it would probably help to read two excellent articles: 1) from Matt Legend Gemmell, What Have You Tried? (http://mattgemmell.com/2008/12/08/what-have-you-tried) and 2) Mike Ash's more-friendly Getting Answers (http://www.mikeash.com/getting_answers.html).

Good luck and let us know how things are going.
