Same here. I ordered it and response from the company. I emailed them and they gave the me "we know that our website says In Stock but it is not and we are delayed a couple of days but it will go out." A few days pass and I get this email from them today:

A friendly heads up to our Valued Switcheasy Customer,

Thank you for your order. We are sorry for the delay.
Due to an unexpected delay with our overseas manufacturer, we
experienced inventory shortages, all colors for the Canvas iPad 2 are
temporarily out of items even though it says "In Stock" on our website
(inventory levels on computer systems can differ from what is
physically in stock.)

Our units should arrive within 2-5 days and begin shipping.
If this delay is unacceptable, we understand your desire to cancel and
request a refund (that includes the shipping fees.)
Or if you are willing to wait for this item, we will hold your order
for arrival of the item, and ship shortly thereafter.

When replying, could you please let us know what seems to work best for you.

I have no confidence with Switcheasy at this point. They know that they have no product in stock for a week and they still list it as "In Stock". The product might be great but the company's business practices certainly don't give me the warm and fuzzies.

Pshhhh. I ordered mine last week and I Received this exact copied email from them until I emailed them 3x including my paypal transaction ID that they must have wasted extra time asking me for my PP ID.:confused:

Clearly they've not organized their sites about their inventory that always say "in stock" which is likely their marketing without them being available.

Sure their case looks decent in the video and reviews but I'd prefer ordering from a company without all the swishy washy talk.

We are aware now from this thread that they're located in Hong Kong "overseas" which is a joke. I don't care their products are made in China or if it's matter if their built by underwater basket weavers or even in Pluto if they can drop some legit info if I'm buying anything.


Perhaps a new thread about their poor information offered for their customers which should be as important as the actual product.

I am glad that I ordered a black ipad2 canvas! I have heard from a few friends having the same delay which I'd recommend updating your website. Besides- I have heard on CNN that your underwater basket weaver was attacked by a mega shark (other circumstances*?) including the weather, volume, customs, mail volume. Did you kill the shark...or dynamite? It would have to be a endangered specie.*Everybody, check for swamp leeches, and pull them off... Nobody else got hit? I'm the only one? What's the deal?

I got the same email from switcheasy last week - 2 days later the case was at my door. This is easily the best case BY FAR for the ipad 2. Nothing comes close

Weird, I ordered my brown one the other day and it was literally on my doorstep like 48 hours later, for I think $4 shipping? Are people still ordering from the international link or something?

I too, got the same email warning me there was going to be a delay. There wasn't.

Case is awesome, I like everything but the fabric (would prefer a different texture, but I knew that going in). My clip isn't tight at all, very easy to open and close, but still holds it securely. Only complaint might be the weight, but you're sacrificing that for a lot of protection.

I give it an A minus.

I'd have to say that they have the worst customer service with any 'company' I've ever ordered from and I'd never order again from them.

Any product isn't worth anything if they can't back up their orders...

All I can recommend is emailing them enough getting info out of them. I had to email them 4-5x to finally giving me a tracking number or even anything. I should have known better ordering from some flop overnight case company spamming the accessories forums. I'll likely expect this case to last ~year. I'll make my own review if it actually shows up or if my correct order is the right one.

I'd be just as suspicious/skeptical as you if my first experience was like yours, but I'd at least wait it out and receive your case. If you don't like it, you either don't want a folio case or just hard to please,lol. I got one for my wife's when they first showed up and like some others, we received it just 2 or 3 days later with no express shipping etc... I'm waiting til all this clears up then ordering one for me.

Yea... Their name should be Switch and Bait. :rolleyes:

They send people's tracking numbers which aren't actually shipped yet they're only in USPS system. -

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on May 04, 2011 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

What a huge joke. My review will continue dropping how they've clearly not even shipped anything keeping people happy.

I ordered mine two weeks ago and even got a tracking number. It has yet to get here. I emailed them and they said they haven't received them yet. How can you send out a tracking number two weeks ago and not have the item? I dont care how good the case is they suck.

Yea, I totally agree. I don't care if the case cooks my breakfast and washes my dog if he falls in a mud puddle into my house... Their CS is the biggest waste. Try bugging them and they'll probably sending you a tracking number that hasnt been shipped yet like mine. I'll just contact paypal and I'll build up this thread as big as possible wo they won't sell anything again. I'd be fine with legit answers out of their bags of tricks...

Not sure if any of you self consumed folks know this, but the entire region and all the shipping in and out of that area has been hit hard by something called an Earthquake.

Talk about CNN, turn it on bud, learn something about logistics.

I have never read such a lousy excuse for a letter of complaint in my entire life. What are you 13 years old?

Whoever wrote that email to the company is nothing but total moron, and if I was running that company I would send you a refund and a note telling you to go buy your case somewhere else.

So why don't you, if you can't be patient and wait for the product then hit the road and find another company to whine and complain about.

I have had nothing but great experiences with their customer service, they have always been friendly courteous and prompt with their deliveries.

There's no need to come on to this forum or any forum for that matter, and trash a quality outfit that sells tons of quality products. Its just totally unnecessary temper tantrum baby behavior!

If you must would like to know- go find some research yourself there was an 7.1 earthquake in Japan in 2009 august in Narita airport since I was THERE since it was a mess then and I didnt need to guess the earthquake last month. Learn before jumping in a thread before you know.

Congrats finding a thread for you to flame and fan with your pathetic experience with this company before doesn't help anything.

A quality outfit? Your post is pretty clear that you're probably the owner/employee to 'help' the issues.

Their pathetic canned responses to show off that they've sold a ton cases isn't helping anyone becoming frustrated without any information about their orders while they're likely sitting on top piles of paypal transactions that they continue and wait until they catch up enough complains.

My email was to switch easy after I was getting tired emailing them without any single slight legit info until I got bored sending random emails to make me enjoyed to see if they would actually write back... I'm actually 3, not 13. ;):eek:

Repeat-

It had been clear in the other thread all switchbait's having shipping from hong kong from their manufacturer. If you actually believe Japan / earthquake first wouldn't ever build a case being sold for 50 bucks as maybe you should do your own research the entire region or even the south Asia in this week without drawing a political conversation with you since you were interested dropping insults at me and several other members on the site so I will offer this post how they are as frustrated without any info on their own orders.

I got lucky, after I ordered one a couple weeks ago I got the infamous "due to distributor issues/customs/bla bla" email... but it then shipped the same day. before i got the tracking number later in the day i emailed them asking why it said in stock on the website and got a response apologizing for the delay as if my item was still delayed (after my item had shipped).
the case arrived a couple days later.

my roomate and his girlfriend both ordered one early last week and they have yet to receive a tracking number

Dang, you must have some crazy good luck. :) I'm sure your roomate + gf might need a calendar checking on it too. My iPad is so cold. I'll build a little fire and cuddle with it since it's pretty sad. ;) haha.

Who wants to read a 48 page thread for kissing feet? If you read my posts that I'm only interested some legit info about shipping from the company for MY order. I'm obviously not the only forgotten order. Read the other posts by other members in this thread and the other thread too.

Did anyone else receiving a working tracking # yet? Well, does it load up saying that it was shipped since an electronically sent -> USPS previous 'stamped' into the mail stream.


Yes, I am aware that switcheasy is 'waiting' for their back-ordered inventory since a few weeks back now for many people too.

I ordered the Cover Buddy on May 5, but I have not received an order or shipping confirmation until now. All I received was the confirmation of payment from Paypal.

How many days does it take for them to issue an order confirmation? I don't even have a way of tracking my order!

Well... I had to follow up on my own order after sending them 5+ emails to finally get a tracking #. I have been told... "In 4 days". And 2 weeks... and "7 days".. Its interesting for me.

Just email them and see what they say. It is confusing that you'll see that the conversation email is broken apart after they respond without even quoting my questions.

Besides- If my order actually shows up, I will absolutely never order any of their products. Post back in here again so we can see if my situation is the same. I'm pretty sure there are 15+ day orders people posted before. :eek:

I ordered mine on 5/1 before they listed it as Out of Stock on the website. On Tuesday, 5/3 I emailed them about an order confirmation, and they confirmed my order (since I provided the request paypal transaction id) and gave me the cookie cutter "we sold them too fast over the weekend and didn't get to list them as out of stock" response. I was told they were waiting on their manufacturer to provide stock, and I could cancel if I wished, otherwise my order would be fulfilled when they were back in stock.

On Friday 5/6 I emailed them again, asking for a status update. They indicated that "We're hoping to receive our next batch in the next 3-5 days or by the end of next week May 13th. Please also remember that these times are estimates from our carrier companies, as there may be unavoidable delays such as weather or customs clearance. Therefore we cannot guarantee delivery times."

As far as I can tell, Switcheasy does not routinely provide order confirmations, only Paypal receipts (which I guess is more Paypal's doing than Switcheasy's) but will provide shipping information once shipped. They do seem to not mind to answer any order fulfillment questions if asked, but I suppose if you berate and mock them about their stock issues, you'd probably be less likely to get a positive response.

Personally, they have provided me with very prompt responses to my questions about my order, even providing dates when requested. I was however courteous in my requests, and did not adopt a "I'm the customer, you better give me what I want right now" attitude towards the situation.

Then again, I am an adult, patient, and willing to wait 2-3 weeks if that is what it takes to acquire a good product. And from everything I've seen and read, this case (Canvas) is among the best available, especially for the price.

Supply and demand can be painful sometimes, but it is a reality of the marketplace. With iPads selling as well as they do, the pressure it puts on the manufacturers of good accessories can create situations like these, and if you want in on the quality products, sometimes it requires patience.

Switcheasy have good customer service in my option. I ordered mine from the international store on a Friday and it was shipped on the Monday.

When I received it I noticed the clasp was very tight like some other people but though it would get better with time like it has with other people. I emailed them just to ask if it was normal and would get better overtime and they emailed back straight away asking for pictures and I sent them some and they got back to me saying they think it is a defect with my case and would ship a new one to me. I recieved an email two days later saying my replacement has been shipped via Fedex with a tracking code :)

If your happy to pay the extra shipping yeah if I remember correctly shipping is $4 on the US store and $15 on the International store. I'm from the UK and ordering from the International store ended up being around £10 cheaper than ordering from the European store with shipping costs.

Ordered over 2 weeks ago and have emailed several times only to hear they are waiting on their shipment and sorry for the delay. No expected ship date. Ordered from US store.

I ordered from the US Store too. I have sent them numerous emails without any responses of a ton random automated responses just to confuse people. This is for sure the worst company ever made. How do they get any reviews all these people kissing on these peoples feet how theyre awesome?

They are sending responses but apparently everyone is getting different answers. Kinda disappointing but I guess they are stressing to get the stock in and get them out to people waiting. I am frustrated that people that are ordering internationally are getting them sent to the US but the US orders are delayed. I would assume it was due to the extra payment in shipping so they sent them out. Now everything on all sites for the canvas show out of stock so I guess nothing is shipping until the next shipment arrives at their distribution warehouse. They have my money and I have no clear ship date, that is what is most frustrating.

My most frustration dealing with them is that they cannot send a simple short response saying.. "Sir, we are packing all the merch, and yours should be shipped tomorrow." They have to have a huge list of macros of auto-responses to pull out of their bag... Customer 1A -> send this one... Done.

I'm waiting to see if I get a decent response from them before I post my email I sent to them this afternoon today. To say at least... They have the worst customer service than I've ever seen in my life.

I think it is a situation of where, when it is in stock, they send it out quickly. When it is out of stock, they only tell you "sorry, it's out of stock," you get the generated tracking number label, and it ends up shipping whenever it ships. Which could be weeks.

I ordered my Switcheasy Canvas (black) on a Friday morning, and it got delivered via US Priority Mail the very next day. It shipped out of Tracy, CA, and I live in Northern California, so I got it extremely fast. Same with my husband's Switcheasy Canvas in Charcoal. He got his in one or two days as well. The first Switcheasy Canvas I ordered was a Charcoal one when it was out of stock, and I got the same "sorry, but it is out of stock/we hope to ship it soon" generic email. That order took about two weeks to arrive.

If it is out of stock, it could take weeks and you get little to no information from Switcheasy. If it is in stock, it ships fast.

I find it frustrating when the only way to contact the company is via email. It is always nice to be able to contact a business via a toll free number or some telephone number/customer service dept. That is the downside to Switcheasy. You are left to the mercy of hoping for some kind of email from them.

All in all, I think the Switcheasy Canvas is a terrific case and the best on the market so far. I've tried the Cygnett Windsor, the Speck Pixel Wrap, the Marware CEO Hybrid, and the Belkin Flip Folio for ipad 2. In my opinion, none compare to the Switcheasy Canvas in terms of functionality and protection.

First... My order showed that they were "in stock". If I knew I was going to be waiting weeks, then I wouldn't have ordered at all until only for me doing their job following up my own order....

I had to email them 5+ to even get any info at all. In my first email how I left every bit of information including my paypal transaction ID, and everything.

So my response from that was some pathetic automated response saying...

Dear Switcheasy Customer,

Thank you for placing your order with us.
After making your payment, you will be given a Transaction ID number
or receipt ID number by PayPal, this is only to acknowledge that your
order has been received.

We ship orders Monday through Friday within 24 hours after the receipt
of your order.
Orders placed on Friday after 10 AM may not be processed until the
following business day.

So, I thought I was pretty fair sending all possible info getting the best possible response about my order... so I had to send ALL my info AGAIN...

It took about the next 3-4 emails until until they finally sent me a tracking # USPS when I found that it was only electronically sent to USPS that it wasnt actually shipped. I sent another email and asked if they may correct me if I'm wrong that my tracking number proves that my order hadn't actually ship at all..

Then, thats when they let me know again... "It'll be 7 days."

What exactly are you expecting them to say? "It's still out of stock sir, we'll be shipping as soon as we have the stock." ?

If you read my post earlier, I ordered around the same time you did, and I have received "legit" information, to the best of my knowledge, as to when the stock will be available (within reason) so that I can know when to expect my product. You know the difference between you and me? Respect. I didn't go at them with a complete lack of it, and in turn I've received useful information. When you treat their customer service like dirt, what exactly are you expecting to receive?

From my estimation, they seem to have given you the only information they have available to give, you just don't seem to be happy with it. You want an exact date and time your product will ship, regardless of the FACT that they simply don't have that exact information to give. What exactly are you reasonably expecting to receive, that they still don't have the item in stock, and still don't have an exact idea as to when they will have it?

Regarding the issue about email only support, yes, it sucks. But you have to consider that they are probably running a small US operation (probably single digit employees in the US simply for handling the money and packing up the products to ship out) and can't afford to do phone support. Email is something that is a lot easier to handle, because you handle it on your time, not right when the customer calls, and that is something that fits in well with their supposed business model. Some people are just old fashioned, and want to talk on the phone, but in instances like these, what really is the difference between being told they are out of stock and plan to be out of stock for 2 weeks in an email, or over the phone? Nothing, really.

I've been lurking this forum for a little while, mainly since I purchased an iPad 2, and it is simply astounding to me how little patience some people have with these small companies that are obviously struggling to handle the demand for their products. I joined the forum simply to try to speak out against that behavior, because honestly, what is your ranting and raving really supposed to achieve? You certainly aren't going to get Switcheasy to stock their products any faster, and your bile can't compete with what seems like quality product offerings, so what exactly is the purpose of all the ranting?

And no, before you accuse me, I don't work or in any way represent Switcheasy. I'm simply a guy that read ipad 2 case reviews, found a thread on this forum about the case I decided to buy (Switcheasy Canvas) and am in the same boat as the rest of you, waiting on my shipment. The different is, I seem to have a modicum of patience.

I would have assumed some better customer service from a business that was opened since 2008... It should have been decent by now after 3 years without copy / pasting responses to customers...

They have still ignored my last emails. Honestly- just a simple few sentences with a head up with any real info if it's going to be sooner... I've waited more than 2 weeks. It's just excuses from them. I've had great CS from many other little companies who love helping their customers to build their business off the ground, especially with our poor economy here.

Last- of course I couldn't ever accuse you of anything affiliated with switcheasy since you're in a spot with me too waiting.

What's the deal people claiming their orders were shipped? It's probably just an electronic tracking number with and updating on it showing it into the system. At least I'm not the only person getting pretty impatient without decent CS.

My current expectation for my Canvas to be in stock @ the US store/warehouse is this Friday at the latest, not according for weather/shipping/customs/whatever delays. Switcheasy gave me that date, and even said it might be as soon as today. (which obviously isn't)

I've got my hopes up, but when Friday rolls around and they still don't have it, well, what are you gonna do?

We haven't been updated at all if the manufacturing is on way for their orders. I have poor expectations hearing any shipping by the end of this week.

Well, soon I'm going to make a claim with paypal for switcheasy. If they were a legit company, they always handle their issues at least giving people a part refund getting a discount when it's shipped. This business doing a poor job taking care of their customers.

This IS a review about switcheasy, and I've decided before that their name should be Switch&Bait.

The Switcheasy Canvas is my number one case to get for my iPad 2, but it seems almost impossible to get one. There hasn't been stock for weeks as far as I can tell and neither is there any indication of when they will have them in stock again. It's pretty damn ridiculous that they have this many trouble producing some simple cases when it's the best case in several roundups and reviews.

I got the iPad 2 switcheasy canvas and I just love it. I just placed an order For the cover buddy and it will be a 2-3 week wait... Well worth the wait if it is anything like the Switcheasy canvas.

It seems that Europe store has stock, even the Charcoal is available.

The problem mainly seems to be the US store getting _enough_ stock to fulfill orders with. Hopefully that will be resolved very soon.

The shipping IDs with no product is suspect.

With that said, not all businesses are run as well as you might think.

There may not be something malicious, there may be.

Anyone that is in business finds ways to streamline processes like "semi canned" emails, if you have to say the same thing over and over again - not really a big deal IMO.

I can't speak to the "In Stock" thing on the site...seems if it isn't 3-5 days expected for stock, they should reflect it someday on the site. I don't doubt they can't predict as closely as a US based company (though some premium US brands aren't any better)...they have to deal with imports, the cases are probably coming on a boat with 50000 other things built in China...It really may not be as cut and dry as you imagine it to be.

Communications are a different story and speaks to my comment above - not all co's run how you'd imagine (most don't).

With that said, Cancel your bleeping order - it's clear the company and your are "not a fit" + the case isn't that great anyway :D

I totally agree that the fact that streamlining is helpful for any business. Besides- switcheasy is using a mediocre online store (which is a bonus that it uses paypal keeping it safer for customers) but it doesnt actually send a legit receipt from their store besides the paypal email. That would have made their major streamline easier and actually answer irate customers (like me) who haven't heard anything about their orders.

For certain usage for canned responses like... "Our XXXX Is being released next friday!!!!" done. Their reason isn't used correctly to help people. I do know that they are waiting a 35 billion products from pluto after their underwater basket weavers build them all. Honestly though, there isn't any reason wherever they make their products as long they can make their customers happy by answering their emails with legit questions.

Your last comment... "cancel your bleeping order" - I am considering it how long its been without any responses at all. I thought I was pretty polite with them for answers. (besides my random emails with paragraphs that asked about sharks attacking their underwater weavers, etc... I just tried to see if maybe a unusual email getting them to respond. ;)

I know the case isnt that great probly, but I'll write a review so it makes sense after dealing with them. I'd say I'm reasonable, and I'm always patient if companies can help people with some info. :)

It is interesting though how there is a US Store, but the paypal account attached to the US store says its International that it says its not to USA. Strange.

Nothing is worth anything if its difficult to get it. Sure, and what happens if I get it, and they send me the wrong color? It breaks within 1 week.. Then, I get worried having to deal with them again. Thats a risk with poor CS buying anything. =/

This IS the first time they actually wrote an actual email back to me. I'll give them a notch up actually sending a slightly decent response, but its not truth until I get my order shipped and actually delivered.Plus- since of course people will flame me from my email, but I'm posting the information about my situation dealing with this company is always helpful for the community on MacRumor so people could understand. I ordered a Canvas yesterday, (for the second time), after seeing metagamers H2H review of the Canvas against the iFrogz Summit. I had cancelled my first Canvas (back)order, to go with the Summit, but after seeing the review, I think the Canvas will end up being a better choice. I got such a good deal on the Summit, ($37, + $10 shipping), that I should be able to get most of that back if/when I sell it. iFrogz shipped the Summit today, so I'll use that to cover my iPad 2 in the meantime, and can patiently wait for the Canvas. ;)

Customer service is not that bad! Ordered mine on the 9th, and got my shipping notification after I posted that last email from them today!

Hopefully I get it by end of week. The OEM plastic cover won't hold out much longer....

USPS' tracking is terrible. It is usually never updated until you already have the item in your hands or at your local mail facility.

Huh? I'm thrilled but totally shocked! I was in for the long haul. Perhaps they got a huge shipment in and they are starting to fill everyone's orders!

I'm starting this thread to see who has attempted to cancel their purchase for a Switcheasy case and how long it took to get your refund (PayPal). On Apr. 26th. I placed an order for a Black Switcheasy Canvas Case, which I should note the website indicated was in stock. I soon thereafter, I received the infamous backordered notice, which I was fine with being that I did not have my Ipad2 yet. As I started to receiving my shipping notices, I emailed Switcheasy several times, in which they PROMPTLY (being honest here) emailed me back. I too, received the standard replies (backorders, shipping, customs etc...) As time got closer to receiving my Ipad2, I realized that my case would NOT be here in time. So, I ordered the Toblino 2 case (very nice by the way). Once I had both items, I emailed Switcheasy asking them to cancel my order and refund my money $53.99. They replied quickly, that they would. Well, fast fwd. several days, still NO refund. Let's be real, is it really that difficult to refund a PayPal payment? Just thought I would share my story and would like to hear from others who tried to cancel and get their money refunded. THANKS!

I'm starting this thread to see who has attempted to cancel their purchase for a Switcheasy case and how long it took to get your refund (PayPal). On Apr. 26th. I placed an order for a Black Switcheasy Canvas Case, which I should note the website indicated was in stock. I soon thereafter, I received the infamous backordered notice, which I was fine with being that I did not have my Ipad2 yet. As I started to receiving my shipping notices, I emailed Switcheasy several times, in which they PROMPTLY (being honest here) emailed me back. I too, received the standard replies (backorders, shipping, customs etc...) As time got closer to receiving my Ipad2, I realized that my case would NOT be here in time. So, I ordered the Toblino 2 case (very nice by the way). Once I had both items, I emailed Switcheasy asking them to cancel my order and refund my money $53.99. They replied quickly, that they would. Well, fast fwd. several days, still NO refund. Let's be real, is it really that difficult to refund a PayPal payment? Just thought I would share my story and would like to hear from others who tried to cancel and get their money refunded. THANKS!

This isn't a poor customer service experience. They have dealt with your matter in a fair and reasonable way. It can take several days to a fortnight to receive a refund through PayPal, I know this because I have refunded someone something through PayPal before.

Clearly- my last post is only a few above this post that I emailed SwitchEasy to cancel my order and refund me. I was totally sick dealing with their poor customer service.


I thought I made it pretty easy for them since they DID respond from my cancellation email-

SwitchEasy SENT me someone elses name, address, and a DIFFERENT Tracking Number for someone else!!!!!

Would anyone else be pissed having their own Home Address and their personal info at all and all that? Look at their email. I am not dishonest and I have xxxx'd out all the personal info and I only left the State it was going to be shipped to.

Friends on MacRumors! Just be careful ordering ANYTHING from SwitchEasy. Luckily for all of us that we ordered from Paypal so they can't charge our credit cards, but divulging a bunch personal data to other people. I am pretty frustrated at this point now. :mad:

Yea.. Seriously... They're not very careful sending people personal data... Its pretty sketchy. =/

I'm really glad that you received your case though. Yea, I just noticed that the shipping was from April 25th!! That is real old and they still sent me all that.

I'm calling that this will be a headache having them to refund me. Obviously, I needed to dispute it on paypal before the 45 day minimum for it. :)

Well, I respectfully disagree with you. Yes, they canceled my order, as they should. But as far as refunding my money, I fail to see WHAT takes so long to refund a Paypal payment. I too, have refunded paypal payments and if I recall, just click a button or tow and the process is on it's way. The emails they send me in regards to the cancellation are pathetic. So, I opened a paypal dispute and see what happens from there. Once again, this MY experience with their customer service. Pitiful.

Their emails are too vague to provide anything helpful. :confused:

Thats a shame on top of their unprofessional style contrary to that I would have expected after they receiving payments from anyone.

the real damage here was the sloppy emailing of another customers info. Other than that, the OP could have waited a few more days (one more) and finished this deal.

I've had some weird communications with Switcheasy too. So I wouldn't put the blame solely on the OP. But I absolutely agree that the wrong customer info is just plain unprofessional and should never have happened.

It really is a great case and you have had the same luck as I have but I waited and although I was frustrated I understood that their emails were not canned but were pleading for customers to bear with them until they received more from their manufacturer.

After receiving mine I am glad I waited. Best case on the market by far from what I have seen. Of course that is my opinion.

On a side note, looks like they fixed the tight clasp issue. :D

My switcheasy case finally arrived today after waiting nearly three weeks for it. I'm happy it finally came in it's super cool I love the look defiantly worth the wait. Unfortunately I didn't know it was on the way in and ordered the otterbox case this morning and tried to cancel my canvas order. So I now have to wait till the otterbox case comes in and send it back because it's to late to get a refund once it's been processed. So I think I'm going to keep the canvas case because I like it so much. Plus I can use that extra 90 bucks for something else.

This in my opinion now becomes a terrible customer experience. The sad thing is before Switcheasy was a big as it is today their customer service was fantastic and left me satisfied everytime. Switcheasy is now on the "don't buy from" list for me and I'm sure many others.

If this was my situation I would consider suing Switcheasy in a small claims court, not because of the money but there is morals at stake.

The following day I got two messages confirming that my order has shipped.

I did wait ~3-4 days without hearing anything since I ordered for it saying "In Stock!" so, I only followed up until the issue got worse after their responses. Certainly, the biggest issue is the personal data. Who knows if they sent mine to someone else too?

ROFL. I only posted it as a review if others were having issues with them. It seems that many people were frustrated too. Theres always greener grass threads, but I wouldn't want other people getting frustrated too. :) Lets have a party with our iPads. :D haha.

I didn't know there was another way beside Paypal. It takes like 36 seconds refunding on paypal. It seems it'll be difficult canceling if I wanted to re-order for another case. One of my friends bought the Canvas and he liked it but perhaps my luck isn't good enough. I mean... you ordered yours on the 11th, and 2 days after it was delivered... I'm pretty impressed. :) My order is almost 20 days old without any shipping updates on my tracking number. :mad:

I'm glad yours showed up, but after wasting time emailing with them to receive a bunch copy/pasted responses (still) and I have been trying hard to get my money back from them. I still agree with you to somewhat that it looked to be a good case keeping the back safe, but its just been too much of a headache from them. They need to hire some employees to handle their emails and work on their CS. I've ordered a lot from little companies and they've been very quick and happy helping people fast. Thats great! I had a Otterbox Defender on my iPad 1 last year and it was awesome. Plus- OtterBox has the most amazing customer service after ordering accessories for my ipad/iphone & any of my mac stuff. :) OtterBox will certainly accept the case you ordered back. Last year, my order was accidentally returned back to OtterBox and they offered to offer paying the shipping back to me. :D

That whole response from them sounds like another automated canned response from them that doesnt make sense at all.

I've been planning for my case ideas if you haven't figured yet. The apple smart cover + any of the back shell cases with it would likely be the lightest setup. :)

I agree with you. I wouldn't EVER recommend ordering anything from them which is only about their SEVERE poor customer service. Besides- putting switcheasy into small claims would waste more of my time, haha. Its only $50 anyway.

I know they have to be opening the paypal account looking at all their orders to avoid the "You have new disputes. Go to Resolution Center" on PayPal but they have completely ignored responding on there too. It must be too difficult for them clicking the refund button. :mad:

Ordered the black canvas today.....got a shipping notice three hours later. Can't complain about that kind of service :)

While I can understand being a little bothered by the customer service and emails, supply this early in the product lifecycle can be tough and clearly they are working on it. I can see why it would be difficult to predict for them. There's no bait and switch here... The product is great. Got black and charcoal. Ordered 4/26, arrived 5/13. I couldn't be happier with the cases. Be patient, there are more important things in life to get worked up over.

Eh... its YMMV. Its pretty difficult just having them to cancel & refund me. That strange email from them sending me someones personal data and I wasn't happy about their workplace keeping organized. I'm glad your order went well oppositely mine.

I completely agree with you. I haven't been worked up since it was only a few quick emails to them until recently just canceling. I only made this thread mainly showing people my review dealing with this company moreso than just a rant. Its always good seeing both sides the product review | Customer Service if there would ever be an issue. I just learned with them if I had a needed to contact them to swap out my order but I always judge companies early.

On top-
I have ordered from OtterBox 2x in the last year and they have been great. I have been ordering from Power Support for a few recent years and they replaced films very quickly from only 1 issue once.

Its just that- I can't assume SwitchEasy being helpful like PowerSupport or OtterBox. I'll update the thread whenever SwitchEasy refunds me after they shipped plenty orders from only a few days back but mine is ~17-20 days waiting like your order.

To me, no other case out right now compares to the Canvas. But this thread has me unsure about buying one...

I'm not really sure what alternative I'd go with now though.

It seems that the stock issue has been resolved and they are fulfilling orders pretty quickly now. This seems to be the best case out there, i received mine a couple days ago after waiting 2 weeks and i can honestly say it was well worth the wait. Its an amazing case and seems to be well built. Order one, you wont be disappointed!

Did anyone get an email from switcheasy that said you would be receiving a gift for the delay in shipping. Because I did and when I finally received my canvas case it did not come with a gift. After I sent them an email and a copy of their email that showed I would receive a gift I got an email today that said they apologized and they would send something out on monday. Wonder what it will be.

Did anyone else get a gift in the mail?

Thanks... although I had tried that several times before, I recopied and pasted it again and it worked, got the same status as yours showed. Possibly just took that long for USPS to have the info.

Heres a reason why SwitchEasy cannot refund me.....

Their Paypal (orders@switcheasy) account is limited. Perhaps they have a lot disputes against them at the same? This could make sense how some people's orders were cancelled automatically.

What does it mean if my account access is limited?
When your account access is limited, it means that we noticed an issue and need your help to resolve it. Often, we’ll limit your account to help protect you. For example, we may limit your account until you’re able to confirm that you authorized a transaction.

We’ll send you an email to let you know why your account is limited and you’ll see the reason when you log in to your account.

It’s usually pretty easy to take care of an account limitation. Most of the time, we just need some information about your account or latest transactions.

it goes either you buy from them and it's a smooth transaction. Or, something goes wrong and it get's built up into this weird exchange of strangely worded emails, multiple people handling responses, confusing.

It is pretty annoying dealing with them which is proven that their paypal account is a non-US verified paypal and they claim somehow that I sent them $53.99 and they don't have $1.60 to return my total $53.99.

Apparently there is some issue on their side about $1.60 that they are overseas which is a bit interesting that they are running at "SwitchEasy USA" that is having issues.

Why would I care about $1.60? Its pretty annoying that they havent fixed that glitch yet since I believe I ran into someone elses issue after international currency transfer or something maybe?

All of their product originates in China. From there, they ship to their 3 distribution centers. Each has their own stock. So yes, it is possible to have different stock at different stores.

Also no, you will not get an order confirmation unless you request it via email. You will get a payment confirmation and a shipping confirmation.

Ordered a black Canvas on 5/19 and received it on 5/23 in Central Virginia. Looks good - now I'm just waiting for the iPad.
