We will see probably a public preview of Lion on the WWDC. This is from an Apple e-mail:
It makes sense to optimize Lion for Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge. It saves future development costs.

It was gonna be released sometime in Sept.

Early is early and you were wrong.
Id say August/Sept is more likely. My best guess is that Apple will release Developer Preview 3 with more features that they will announce at WWDC. After that, bi-weekly seeds until a GM build in August.
