Is there a decent statistical package for Mac? I was using Minitab 16 on a PC, and I'm trying to learn R, but after Minitab it's a royal pain. Recommendations, anyone?

I use Minitab 16 on a daily basis on a work provided Dell.
Minitab 16 rocks!
Some people use JMP:

You can use boot camp or any virtualization solution:

The Minitab demo doesn't work on a virtual machine.

I have a Macbook.
I had a PC laptop that I was just using for Minitab, but it got infected. I'm not sure how, but it's an expensive mess.

If it is an Intel MacBook you could use Windows.

Anyway JMP is supported on Mac.
And about cleaning the mess on the windows pc, use your mac to download some free antivirus packages, put then either on a flash drive or burn a CD, then boot without connecting it to the internet and clean it, you might need to boot in safe mode, but with the admin user.

I would recommend STATA (http://www.stata.com/). It has both GUI and CLI for doing stuff. It runs fast and hardware requirements are small. Also web is full of additional free modules/programs to extend the functionality. Webforums and tutorials are helpful if help needed. Finally, it is not very expensive compared to other packages.
The second option i would consider is SPSS (http://www.spss.com/). It is a prominent application for doing statistical analysis. But I do not like it that much because it is JAVA application and it gets badly expensive if you start adding modules you might need in your work.

I would really recommend giving R another chance. But I'm a statistician, and I don't know what you are or what you're trying to do...
If you need a GUI, then I recommend JMP. But like most proprietary statistical packages, it's rather expensive. There is a Mac version, so no need to run Windows. (No idea why SAS has a native Mac version of JMP but not SAS. GAH. Really hoping for SAS to come back to the Mac one of these days...)
