Barefeats.com just ran an article about performance tweaks for Doom 3 on the Mac. Probably most interesting are the comments by Glenda Adams, Director of Development at Aspyr Media, explaining why games don't run as well on the Mac platform.

Whoa, the last thing I'd be doing if I had an X800XT would be screwing around with overclocking the card - not worth it.

I dont see getting a frame or two as worth it. A very good article and a very good response from Glenda at Aspyr. The Bottom line is if you want great gaming you need a PC. I noticed the benchmarks they said run it twice to get a more accurate reading. I did and got 58 the first time and 68 the second. very impressive indeed for a single 2.2 ghz Athlon64 mated to a 6800GT. thats at 1280 x 1024 my monitors native resolution. Dont discourage Im sure there will be little tweaks coming for the Mac version along with faster hardware from Apple.
