I've been reading about this new iPhone case from Third Rail Mobility (http://thirdrailmobility.com/) that offers the best blend of design/form factor, and practicality with multiple detachable, chargeable external batteries. Definitely going to pick one up based on these reviews below. Will write my own review once I get mine.

Speaking of battery cases- has anyone bought the Boost iphone battery case? now they make one that is a leather flip case. I've never seen one designed like this and really like it. I want to hear someone's opinion of the brand before I try it though!

Thanks in advance! :)

I picked one up today. The case without the battery feels great. Very slim and unobtrusive.

Tomorrow I'll be testing the external battery.

It looks promising, but this turned me off:

The bad: The Third Rail case's included battery provides only enough power to charge an iPhone 4 up to about 65 percent. Also, it continues to discharge even when the phone's battery is already full. The package is rather bulky when used as a juice pack and the case needs to be removed completely when you want to use the phone with a docking station.

Which part? There's an on/off switch on the case.

I saw a couple video reviews of it on YouTube and I personally find it hideous. When you attach the battery it becomes very awkward and it's definitely not something pleasant to look at. When you take off the battery the case itself looks a little unfinished.

You should check out the boost case. I personally haven't owned one, but it looks really nice.

It's not for everyone, but the case actually feels really nice without the battery. From the reviews on the web, everyone who's actually held one in their hands love it.

It does look ugly with the battery on, but it's going to be like that only 20% of the time.

The small battery capacity might also be a concern. For power users, a 2000mah+ battery case would work better.

I had the juice pack air, but it felt too bulky. My friend has the incipio offgrid, and its size is pretty nice. The thicker battery cases gave me flash issues in pictures though.
