Update server with Xserve

Our school wants to use our xservere as a update server. It is running 10.6
We want:
New updates will be sent out to the computers.
Apple updates.
How would we configure this.
How would we set this up on the schools imacs.
Any ideas tips
would it be worth it to update to lion when It comes out.
