Yeah, this trip was unbelievable, Most fun I've had in a long while! I have a lot more pics (close to 1K) but i just skimmed through real quick and grabbed the ones that popped out for now.
I'm a huge fan of Manny so I wanted to time this trip for his fight, everybody was going crazy that day, and it was raining pretty bad out, only time you could look on the street of Manila and not see a single jeepney or side care in sight.
Tagatay was probably the most beautiful city I have ever seen in my life, so much so that I will definitely retire there most likely. First time I have ever had a fresh coconut (the green one) was on this trip as well; something everyone needs to experience at least once in their lives lol.
Tagatay's volcano that is pictured was awesome to see as well, we got very close. Anyone that would like a full rez pic for a wallpaper please let me know and I'll send it to you.

Nice picture, I sure do miss philippines. I haven't been there since 2003, I was born there and then came to Canada when I was 4 years old. It's nice to see that they welcomed you 😀 The girl with the white top, is that your wife?

Yes everyone was very welcoming there. Yes the girl with the white is my wife. I was real excited in the 3rd round and I've been saying PAC in 4 rounds for months now... Needless to say I was disappointed, but at least it was a one sided fight!
Nice pictures there. Wow, many people welcomed you over there. Oh man, how I miss Philippines for sure. I was born there and moved to Ontario, Canada almost six years ago. I must go back there. 🙁

Looks a lot like Thailand...at least from a culturally ignorant person (me). Bet it was fun though. It's been a while since I've been traveling. ahhh🙁
The mouse was a egg that has the baby chic already growing it's called balut.
Ya I thought the same thing... The look is no where near as bad as the smell! One day I seen kids swimming in it, another was pumping water out of it, there are some really bad areas over there; u gotta think 1$ is 43 peso's and these guys only make about 200 pesos a day on average. And everything costs the same as it does here as far as luxury items go, a Mac pro is 133,000 pesos I believe. Most people in that area can barely afford to live let alone clothes; somehow they are all very happy people there, the government is the main one to blame for their country being the way it is. Those are the jeepneys they are the main mode of transportation for groups of people, the play music and have lights inside... Things are awesome!

That is called "balut". It is a 21 day egg. Its usually duck eggs. There are many variants, but they are a good match with beer. I can down a dozen in less than 5 minutes.
There are still lots of nice and beautiful places to see around the Philippines. You to go further up north or further down south. Most foreigners are welcome in the Philippines. We are friendly and hospitable people.
Previous government and greedy politicians are a lot to blame for the poor living conditions in the Philippines. But despite that living condition Filipinos are still a happy bunch.
I was born there. Now I am here in the States.
Now I miss the Philippines.

No money to replace them and when they do replace them they get tires that are already worn out to save money.
These guys are the craziest drivers I have ever seen, if they are in a area where they can open it up they will & pass every car they come across at all times, even on a 2 lane road with a blind corner.
I'm half Filipino and I've been there many times. So proud that they welcomed you there and you enjoyed it! I just couldn't agree more about the government and living conditions though - always makes me feel bad to think that the government are letting people live like that 🙁
Great photos, you really captured the feel for the place. You were certainly off the main tourist path, you got to see the soul of the place.

Thank you for sharing these pictures. I am not Filipino but I lived there for a few years. I remember walking similar roads as you pictured. The smell was definitely over powering sometimes from the sewage rivers but the people are wonderful. Seeing the poverty over there really opened up my eyes as I lived there. It made me very grateful for what I have.
As you mentioned, the people are happy despite the poverty. Its a true testament that happiness doesn't always come from material things.
I've also had the balut. Tried it once. Not my favorite but at least I can say that I tried it. 🙂
By the way, do you speak Tagalog? I learned fluent Tagalog while I was there although its been a few years since I have been able to sit with Filipinos and have a conversation since there are not a lot where I live now in the states.
