One thing I am convinced that Apple will release is the next generation of
Firewire. The Feb issue of Macworld has an article about it. According to
the article, it will start at 800 mbps and go up to 3,200 mbps. (Gigawire?)
It will have a "bilingual" connector allowing it to connect to current
firewire and a "beta" cable that only lets it connect to firewire 2 devices.
