I've been working in Microsoft Excel 2004 on a shared iMac, OS 10.2, and wanted to clear the list of nine recently used files on the File menu. How can I do this? Clearing the recently used applications and documents on the Apple menu doesn't work.

Under the General tab in Preferences (Excel Menu > Preferences), there's the option to switch off the recently used file menu. If you switch it off then back on again, it clears the list I think.
