Last week, we noted (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/05/16/conde-nast-rolls-out-four-new-ipad-magazine-subscriptions-new-yorker-launch-successful/) that Conde Nast had rolled out digital subscriptions for four more of its iPad magazine, joining the earlier debut of The New Yorker.

And with today's launch of subscriptions for Wired and GQ alongside last week's debut of Self, Conde Nast has now completed the rollout across its iPad offerings."WIRED thrives on progress across platforms, whether it's in the magazine, on the website, or on the iPad," said VP and publisher Howard Mittman. "When the app launched last year it was the first to show how interactive and innovative the medium could be. Now, by offering our readers a subscription on iPad, WIRED is poised to lead the digital publishing conversation and reach a wider audience."As with Conde Nast's other monthly magazines, the new titles are available via in app subscription priced at $1.99 per issue or $19.99 per year. Print subscribers can access the digital versions free of charge.

"Why android beat the iphone?"
please!

i'd kinda like to read that article. i hope the premise of that question is based on pure numbers and not some more existential or qualitative use of the word "beat".

Most people I know with an android phone want an iPhone... even if it's the $49 AT&T 3GS. I know no one (personally) with an iPhone who wants an android phone.

sorry if i sound sickeningly fanboyish... but android has not beat the iphone, unless it's just in the sense that the OS has, not surprisingly, found it's way onto more hardware (of both the decent and crappy variety... kinda like Windows).

Can someone clarify this a bit? One year Wired print subscription costs $10 so shouldn't everybody just get that and then activate the iPad subscription as well? Seems 9.99 cheaper to me.

lol. they doubled the subscription prices. I have Wired which I've been paying $8 a year for. It now includes the iPad version of the issues. Now they want $20. I paid $40 for a year of The New Yorker. Now they want $70. Foolish pricing is foolish. I was hoping to bypass the print editions, but I guess I'll be keeping them now.
