I agree with this article. Pixar is the dominate make of successful movies in this market right now. Everything they produce is gold, and Disney has only been successful at feeding off of this success. Pixar needs to find themselves a new distributor with which they can negotiate a much better deal than the current Disney contract.

Actually, when we back up to look at a bigger picture, Apple needs Disney. And Sony, and other movie makers and distributors. If Apple needs them, so does Steve Jobs.
Why?
Online movies. If Apple intends to expand the success of iTunes Music Store to an online version for movies and TV programs, he'll need the full cooperation of the studios. Yeah, Steve will get a better contract (it's Disney who needs Pixar).
He's already set the stage for leverage with both Sony and Disney. They want to play ball with Steve and he gets to call some of the shots.
I'd be very surprised if Pixar goes without Disney once Eisner is out the door and Iger sits on the throne. So to speak.
