Will there be issues with having the old iLife on my computer? Do I uninstall iLife 04 and then drag the icons of iLife 05 onto my desktop? Sorry i have a lot of newb questions but hey you have to learn somehow. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well first of all your talking about pirating your buddies software which if not allowed on this forum and could possibley get you banned. Someone here might help you, but that will not be me, and you'll find alot of others here are of the same opinion.
Now if you decide to go out and spend the $80, which is well worth it, then you'll just have to install it and it should overwrite your current iLife apps.
