Hi All,

Well, after entering the iMac scene a week ago, it's time to start developing.
I want to create an application that will need to have 21 'Tabs' in the window.

I am finding that one can not have view that displays Tabs in one continual row, meaning that the window width would need to be pretty wide which I don't want.

Is there a way to allow the Tabs to fold around to create multiple rows?

Pete

Read the Apple Human Interface Guidelines before you do anything.

http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/AppleHIGuidelines/XHIGIntro/XHIGIntro.html

They are a requirement if you want your app accepted on the Mac App Store. Even if you do not most Apple users will reject an application that looks "un-mac like" so be careful to follow it.

21 tabs! Seriously? That pretty poor UI, at least to a Mac user.

Perhaps go with a pop-up menu (drop-down box in Windows' terms) instead.

Or perhaps an iTunes-style navigation pane down the left-hand side.

Why not just a tableview?

Thanks everyone,

Looks like I had a tad more reading to do yet.

Yea, 21 tabs, well, that was the original plan. I want to duplicate a useful application that is available under Windows but never seen under a Mac - this used 21 tabs.

I will see if I can consolidate the UI.

Care to share what program it is? I'm curious to see what it looks like.
