Hi,
I just took the poll and found that over 50% of you use a 2-button mouse. Obviously, now, a click-CTRL is like right clicking on a Windows mouse. Would that some combo come up with a 2 button mouse or is the right button used for some other function in OSX?
btw, any 2 button mice anyone recommends for my mac?? I use the click-CTRL a lot lately, especially with Excel and a 2-button mouse might fill the bill better.
Thanks.
Frank

The right-click on a multi-button mouse is the exact same thing as a Control-click with a single button mouse.

Yep, if you hook up a two button mouse to a Mac, OS X will automatically recognize the right-click as the same as a control-click, and will bring up a contextual menu if you right-click. If you left click while holding down control it'll also bring up a menu though I'm not sure why you'd do that... maybe if you are still trying to get out of the habit.

As for mice... well, my one BIG recommendation would be Logitech. Basically all their mice rock. Their software sucks, but if you just have a two button mouse you don't need extra software. Kensington also gets a nod for their Pilot Mouse, which is awesome. Microsoft's mice are okay, but they feel a bit different. I have one now that I just got for really cheap and I'm not sure if I like it or not. It has a perfectly smooth scroll wheel with no notches, you can tilt the wheel side to side, and it's very difficult to press down on the scroll wheel (used as a middle-click). Also, it's very light and feels flimsy compared with Logitech's mice.

Really though, ANY USB mouse will work with a Mac. Those are just my personal recommendations.

Agree with AstroManLuca. Logitech mice are nice! I'm using MX500 (it's not wireless, though), very comfortable.

And as Yellow stated, the right-click on a multi-button mouse is the exact same thing as a Control-click with a single button mouse, thus it's crucial to use a two button mouse than a one button mouse.

Seacrest out!
