Hi guys!

I have an iBook G4 1.33 GHz/512MB internal RAM/40GB HD of a friend right now I am looking at. It was running OS X 10.4.11 and wouldn't even allow you to boot up before it would kernel panic and go no further.

Now, I reformatted with 10.5.8 and the RAM has been upgraded to 768MB. It had been working fine, I installed Office 2008, and iLife 09, and ran some updates and let it sit on overnight.

Now today while using it (Facebook in Camino while downloading updates in the background) the kernel panic screen randomly came up.

Here is the entire kernel panic log: anyone have any ideas?

i've seen this with bad ram, and also being caused by the airport card.

i'd remove and extra ram (use only onboard), and also remove and clean the edge connector on the AE card and then re-install. if you still get KPs, then remove the AE card altogether and try again. still KP, then probably a bad ram chip on the logic board.

not likely the cracked asic joint failure or loose bga chip as those won't even KP, they just lock/crash with no warning. best of luck.

Awesome, thank you!

It is still KPing with only the internal RAM so I will try your suggestion with the airport card. If that doesn't work... am I pretty much SOL on options? Or can it run with no internal RAM? I am pretty inexperienced when it comes to the iBook G4s.
