The fan in my new iMac (4 months old) makes a faint sound that seems to rise above the blowing sound of the air (if that makes any sense). It's like the sound a florescent light makes when it's turned on, slilght buzz but noticible after a while. I'm not sure this is a bad thing, but noticed it and wondered if anyone out there has noticed it with their iMac. I have the basic 700MHZ G4 Flat Screen but I think they are using the same fan in all four machines. The noise seems to go up and down slightly probably due to the variable speed of the fan. Any help appreciated.
