View Full Version : The iPod Touch Needs 2 More Buttons

I really wish the iPod touch would have 2 more buttons for changing a song.
1 for previous song and 1 for next song.

I really hate how I have to turn on the screen just to change the song playing every time... really lowers the battery.

Or in the settings, let us change the volume buttons to do this.
Or let us shake for next song instead of random...

Just an idea... ;)

If you use the supplied headphones you could just double-click the button for next song or triple-click it for previous song.

Does it have to be the supplied headphones for it to work?

No, you could get the Apple In-Ear Headphones (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA850G/B?fnode=MTY1NDA0Ng&mco=MTM3NDk5NDQ). I have them and they are great, don't have any complaints about them.

There are others that include the remote

Are there any that are cheap?

The ones that it came with, do you not like those?

Do they make any with the built in remote for under $50?

Buy new Apple Earphones (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB770G/B?fnode=MTY1NDA0Ng&mco=MTA4NTA2ODU), the ones that your iPod came with, from Apple.

There is a MacRumors member selling some brand new ones for $10 (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1167674). I don't think you have access to the Marketplace forum yet so that link may not work for you. If it doesn't work then just send a Private Message to "AppleGoddess". That's the person selling them.

Not only Apple earphones have buttons! Even cheap earphones like Meelectronics M9P have buttons.

The iPod Touch Needs 2 More Buttons...

Yeah, why not 100 buttons? Or why not 1000 buttons? More buttons must be the reason why Apple calls this device "iPod touch".

Yeah!

Having my iPod with JB I hold the volume buttons and I change the song. Pretty Useful, isn't it?

Well, you should understand it really does makes things easier

I leave you guys with a funny picture regarding Apple earbuds I found some time ago: http://www.collegehumor.com/article/6264644/the-7-stages-in-the-life-cycle-of-apple-earbuds

Out of all the things people want next generation Apple products to have, I have to say that this is most unlikely.

Just use Activator after jailbreaking. Problem solved.

I wouldn't be against that. There's many a time I have shuffle on and it always picks a song that I like, but not in the mood for. Meaning I'm then having to bring it out of the pocket, double tap then select.

I have bluetooth headphones that I use with a 2nd generation iPod Touch and the headphones have 2 buttons that can be pushed to go to next or previous song.
