Just wondering if anyone in here is a fan of UK indy (as it used to be called) music and if so what are the new bands we should be looking out for over the coming year, for example last year I would say Bloc Party, KT Tunstall etc.

To start off I would say Stoney, who have a song on iTMS if anyone's interested, and the bridges (see sig for web address). I may be biased as I happen to live with a member of each band but I think both have a future anyone have any more?

Bloc Party's drummer was one of my students a couple of years ago.

Nice bloke all round.

Hope of the States are a current favourite of mine, again one of the guitarists is an ex-student and a good mate now.

there's a tonne of good stuff. I go to crummy little gigs in Leeds and they're fantastic.

Some favourites are...

Kaiser Chiefs (also my next door neighbours)
Bloc Part and HOTS as mentioned.
The Futureheads
The Subways
The Departure
Do Me Bad Things
The Cribs
