Anyone have any experience with the wedge pad (wedgepad.com) ipad stand and how does it compare to padpivot (padpivot.com) stand

leaning towards the wedge, but wondering which would be better to watching netflix before bed

The Wedgepad is very good. They now have a all black version BTW.

Its a VERY comfortable ride.

I also just bought another very good pillow. It's so light it's almost not there and it does portrait great (the wedge pad doesn't, but the wedge pad is secured, which is nice)

Here's the Ebay link for the pillow (I bought black). Bot of these pillow are Highly recommended

It's great using a pillow as a stand as for a few reasons

1) very light
2) can be used on your lap
3) easy to carry
4) pleasant in general
5) not hard or sharp edges to scratch anything
6) fun to throw
7) sex toy (OH no)
8) i'm getting carried away no?

I was a backer for the Pad Pivot on Kickstarter. They are now shipping.

I will leave a review here when I receive it.

Are they shipping to backers only right now ? I don't see anywhere on their kick-starter site about general ordering.

I look forward to reading your review as I'm interested in getting this stand.

Doesn't look like the wedge offers enough of a vertical viewing angle.. if I'm in bed watching something, I'm usually not sitting up at that sort of angle...

The latter doesn't look stable enough for a bed. I'm currently also looking for a solution and will probably end up with a book pillow

According to their site and reviews it has 2 angles. One on the base for a 30 degree angle and one on the edge for a 45 degree. Not sure if that's enough when laying back but i guess i'll find out.

reviews on http://www.kindleboards.com/index.php?topic=62566.0 seem very favorable

Yah, 45 wouldn't be enough.. I'd be looking for something to hold at 70 or greater.

i tend to sit like this most of the time http://wedgepad.com/assets/products/wedgepad_classic_L_8.jpg:cool:

but it would be nice to have the option for an even higher angle

Kickstarter is great, hopefully one day they will expand and offer their service for Canadians too.

It's been a couple months with the wedgepad so i thought i would share my thoughts.

I went with the Black version since i have an ipad 1 and the black traps blend in better. Would most likely go with the white traps version if i had a white ipad 2.
I could pretty happy with the wedge pad. i would say that my ipad spends close to 95% of its time on the wedge unless i need to take it out of the house. I find it most useful when i'm lounging around on the couch and browsing twitter/facebook while resting it on my lap. It's ridiculously light, i would say no more than 4 ozs. It's made from a microfiber material which is nice. I sometime use the wedgepad to clean the glass :D

Cons: it would be nice if it was a bit quieter and i also noticed it's not as firm as when i first got it. For less than $30 bucks i think it's a pretty good deal.

I'm still waiting on my pad pivot. I will post a review when it arrives.http://i.imgur.com/OVxKY.jpg
