iChat Won't Let Me Send Messages....

I can login into AIM with iChat fine, but when I go to type into a text field I am not allowed to, what is wrong!?

You click on the user name>
window pops up with two fields>
your typing into the small field at the bottom right?

in case of problem restart computer... it solves almost any problem :)

naw...iChat has had some issues, especially with knowing if its on the server or not, make sure you are logged in....sometimes it looks like you are, though your not.

I haven't gone through the hassle of actually rebooting now that I'm on 10.2, usually I just quite an app and relaunch

I had an issue where I was talking with someone & all of a sudden I would continue to send messages (they would do the same) though we could not see each others text...odd
