Hi everyone. First post - and it is for my girlfriend (how sweet).

We both have MacBooks (although her is newer 10.6.7...mine is 10.5.8). At her apt, she uses a Verizon USB727 to connect to the internet. After initial installation, she had no problems using the device. Since then (over 6 month period), three different times the Mac stops recognizing the USB727 device. All the Verizon s/w is still there and the light on the 727 illuminates when it is plugged into her computer, but the Mac does not "see" the device.

It seems to happen after her young daughter uses the Mac for educational websites...the next morning it will no longer work. I plugged it into my Mac and it worked like a charm. I have never had an issue with it.

Has anyone come across this? When she calls Verizon...they can't explain - they just have her go to an open network and install from scratch to "fix". Any suggestions to avoid future problems would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Colin
