Hi all. Need to animate a ball in After Effects CS5.5, and have watched various Lynda videos about easy-ease in/out etc and the graph editor, but it still slightly befuddles me.

Attached is a screenshot - I cannot for the life of me, work out what the two yellow squares represent (I know they are keyframes) and what the bezier handles affect, when pulled and pushed...

What is "influence"... ?

Any advice would help me, and thank you! :)

If you grab the yellow circle, then drag it, the corner will become more smooth, I think - that's how masks work anyway.

Uhm, yep, but this is not a mask...

Yes but the theory of bezier curves remain the same.

When pushed and pulled you are essentially creating your own ease in and out.

If it has a really steep curve it will speed up/slow down very fast before the keyframe but if you have a smoother less steep curve it will slowly change the speed before the keyframe.

Hope that helps. I'm not exactly on top of my terminology!
