Mail 4.5 gmail SPAM folder

Does anyone know how to get Mail 4.5 from receiving the contents in my spam folder in gmail?

Its annoying because the bubble count includes spam messages. To be honest, I get all worked up thinking I got a new mail, and its just spam 😡

Expand your gmail account. find the spam folder then up in the menu click on mailbox --> use this mailbox and select junk
