I'm on a quest to rid my home of Microsoft. By that I mean I've had my own internal Active Directory, Exchange, File server etc.
I want to move all my shares to external storage. I have one NAS already but to go all out I need more storage and want RAID protection.
The new Promise Thunderbolt storage devices look cool. However, my question is - what makes a better external storage device for a shared home?
I'm not huge into media or large files (though I do have upwards of 9gb movies) but i do feel pain when using my current Diskstation NAS. I like to stream media to an Apple TV or Boxee Box, iPad etc. and would want my wife to access her files as well.
