I have been thinking about buying some music DVD's instead of CD's (mostly best of collections).
I haven't bought many DVD's and especially not music DVD's, but I might start. Are the recordings on DVD's as good as CD's ?

Yes, they're usually better, since they're usually remastered and DVD supports nifty standards like DTS and Dolby Digital Surround. On the other hand, you can't play DVDs in your car stereo or other CD players, and ripping them (to an iPod, for example) is MUCH harder from DVD than from CD.
My advice: Only buy music on DVDs if you have a nice home theatre system to play them on.
