Hi all,

"This is Lawrence, Kansas. Can anybody hear me?" ...I recently got my personal site set up through Apache server. Then I went on to using the Webserver and did some minor configuring. I can get my site to show up on all the browsers, except for the AOL browser. Is my site really showing up on all those other browsers as well? I'm using the DynDNS to stabilize my IP address. What am I doing wrong? Thanx for any insight in advance.

Regards,
kathryne

AOL may be using a different set of DNS servers which do not recognize your DynDNS domain name. What happens if you try using the direct IP address in the AOL browser? If this works, then it's simply a DNS issue.

Hi Clay,
If I use the direct IP address in the AOL browser, it keeps loading up for what seems forever. When it's finally loaded, I get a message that reads, "580 Server Error." When I use my domain's address, it shows me a message that says "Web Site Not Responding, The web site you have requested may be experiencing technical difficulties due to a busy or broken server," with print below that, that reads, "502 Connection Hangup.

I'm basically just testing the domain address here. http://micasitadepaja.homeunix.com/AOLMessage.jpeg. Can you see it from your end? Thanx for any help.

Regards,
Kathryne

Nah your link doesn't work. Loading forever, then a error dialog.

AOL isn't a seperate browser - its the I.E. engine on Windows and the Netscape engine on Macs... so, testing with Netscape would be better - Netscape -> Mozilla -> Firefox, and firefox won't load your site... THEREFORE:

Your site doesn't load anywhere.

When I try to ping your site, I get this:C:\Documents and Settings\Clay Johanson>ping micasitadepaja.homeunix.com

Pinging micasitadepaja.homeunix.com [10.0.1.3] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 10.0.1.3:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

C:\Documents and Settings\Clay Johanson>The 10.0.1.3 thing is a BIG problem, as this is really not a valid Internet IP address. You need to check your DNS settings for "micasitadepaja.homeunix.com".

EDIT: What do you THINK the IP address is for your site? If we can use it to hit your site, that would confirm it's a DNS issue.

Hi again Clay,

Sorry about that. The DNS address for "micasitadepaja.homeunix.com," is 66.215.236.224, and was assigned to me at DynDNS.org, when I registered there. Thanx!

That IP address (66.215.236.224) isn't working either... your site would appear to be well and truly down.

Some of these may be pretty obvious...

[1] Is your computer on?
[2] Is your web sharing on?
[3] Has your host changed your IP address on you?
[4] Does your IP even allow connections to port 80?
