same core in the Feb 2011 2.0 i7 and 2.2 i7

I did not realize that the original release of the latest MBP came with a 2.0 Ghz i7? Are they from the same processor line? I'd like to see how much faster the 2.2/2.3 is over the 2.0.

yes they are all intel quad core sandy bridge CPU's. Although I believe the 2.3 models have a larger cache.

The 2.0 and 2.2/2.3 were released at the same time. One came on the lower end 15" and one came on the upgraded 15" and 17".

2.0: Intel i7-2630QM
2.2: Intel i7-2720QM
2.3: Intel i7-2820QM

Interesting that Intel only recommends 8 GB of RAM for the 2.0 whereas the others are stated as supporting 16.
